Start with the purpose
Decide where the cloud will be viewed before customizing it. A projected slide needs fewer words and strong contrast. A report can hold more terms. A classroom activity should remain readable on students’ phones or from the back of the room.
Make a neutral version first. Observe the dominant words and refine the text, common-word filter and list length before adjusting the appearance. The design can then reinforce a coherent reading.
Choose custom colors
Use a short palette and check contrast on the final background. If colors are only decorative, avoid suggesting categories. If each color has meaning, explain it in a legend outside the cloud and provide another way to distinguish categories.
Choose a ready-made palette, edit each swatch or set a color for a specific word. Medium and dark tones work well on white slides; choose light, saturated tones for a black background.
Fonts and readability
Quick reading
Inter, Montserrat and Nunito keep small text clear on slides and screens.
Editorial tone
Source Serif 4 and Playfair Display add contrast to covers and reports.
Expressive use
Caveat and Bebas Neue have character but benefit from larger sizes and restrained use.
One font family makes the composition more uniform. Combining fonts adds rhythm, provided the smallest words remain readable. You can also change an individual word’s font, weight and size.
Shapes, images and composition
Broad shapes such as circles, squares and clouds accommodate longer texts. Hearts, stars, speech bubbles and Brazil’s outline convey a theme before reading, but may need fewer words, smaller type or greater density.
Upload a transparent PNG, a high-contrast JPG or a safe SVG to make a shape from your own image. Files are processed locally and are not uploaded to a server.
Fine adjustments and download
- Choose a background and check the contrast.
- Adjust density, word spacing and allowed angles.
- Drag an important word or use the arrow keys to reposition it.
- Review the image at its publication size.
- Download PNG, JPG or SVG at your chosen dimensions.
Transparent PNG works well on presentations. JPG makes a simple file with a solid background. SVG preserves definition when enlarging the artwork. All formats are free to export without watermarks.
